Clever Onnagh saved the Warrior

Finn Mccool was a mighty warrior who lived in Ireland. He was tall and strong man with blonde hair.

On the other side of Scotland lived a giant named Benandonner. He was much more taller and stronger than Finn Mccool. Have you seen Hadgrid in Harry Potter movie? That’s the way Benandonner looked like.

Scotland and Ireland is divided by a sea. Each day Finn and Benandonner shout at each other standing in their place. Finn shouted “Hey Ben! Come to Ireland, I will quash you like orange and throw you away”.

From the other side Benandonner shouted “You come here to my place, I will stomp on you like an insect”.

Each day this drama was going on.

But one day Ben crossed the sea and came to Ireland to fight Finn. Finn seeing the big giant walking towards him he got scared and started running home.

Finn quickly narrated the whole scene to his wife Oonagh. Clever Oonagh said “Finn, don’t be afraid, I will take care of this. Now please do as I say. Go lie down in that bath tub wear that baby bonnet”. Finn did as she said. Then she covered him with a big blanket.

Oonagh asked “Finn, put your thumb in your mouth and pretend like a baby is sleeping”. He did as she instructed.

Benandonner came to Finn’s home and banged the door Dummmdummmm….. Oonagh opened the door and smiling welcomed him.

She asked him “why are you here?” Ben said “I came to fight with Finn”.

                                          being clever

She said “Oh my God, Finn just now left home. I asked him to move the mountain from one side to another”. Benn was shocked. He thought Finn must also be very stronger like him. When Ben was about to leave. Oonagh gave him cookies made out of rocks and stones and said “these are my husband’s favorite, please take one”.

Ben took a bite and he heard his tooth cracking. Two to three teeth fell down.  With the broken teeth he said “The cookie was delicious”. Oonagh said “Ben, you came this far to fight and it’s so disappointing I couldn’t see it but I will see it soon.

Then Oonagh asked “Ben, please come and see my baby”. Ben went near the tub and saw the baby it was covered with hair; it was big like a size of large man. Ben talked to himself “the baby itself is big, imagine about the father of it. How big Finn will be”.

He got scared and said a big bye and ran away.

Ben never came back to Ireland.

Moral: More than Physical strength, mental power is important.

The Pan and the Potatoes By Kirsi Kunnas

Phew! I’m sweating and steaming I feel like screaming I’m bubbling and seething I’m rattling like tea-things The pan said took his hat off his head and Phew! I’m absolutely boiling I’m bristling and whistling and hustling and moiling And all hot and sizzling It’s a mad mad bustle The pan said took its hat off its head and Phew! Ouch this hoppity, hoppity, hoppity Shouted the potatoes, popping up fit to split No way of stopping it, dropping it, swapping it dancing a polka, have to, dance, dancing a polka Got to go higher now, shoes are on fire now Galloping, galloping, off at a lollop Jumping and jumping and off at a wallop Turning and thumping, thumping and turning Oh this knocking and bumping and socking Off again copping it, hopping it, whopping it makes me split No way of stopping it!   This poem sings about how the potatoes are feeling when they are boiled in a pan. The potatoes say that they are very angry and wanted to scream becaus...
