Ah Bao, a small boy who helps his parents in collecting wood from the forest. Every day he walks into

the forest with his axe and cut all the dried branches and barks of trees and brings it back home.

On a fine day Ah Bao was gathering woods from the forest. He saw a red small shining round ball. He

took the ball and put it inside his trouser pocket. He carried a big bundle of wood on his head and

carried two small bundles in each hand.

Ah Bao went back home eagerly wanted to have a second look at the red ball. In his room, he saw the

shining ball. He hid it inside the sack of rice in the kitchen. Within few minutes he could hear the rice

ratting inside. The rice started multiplying and overflowing out of the sack. Ah Bao took the red ball

from the sack and kept it inside his money jar. The coins started rattling and more coins were

overflowing from the jar. Ah Bao was so happy that he found this magical red ball.

With the help of the magic red ball he started helping his poor neighbors. He shared the rice and gave

the money too. Ah Bao noticed that there was no rain in his village after he started using the red ball.

The rivers dried and the crops died.

Ah Bao wanted to help the people by giving them water using the magic red ball. He filled a bucket

of water and immersed the red ball inside, thinking that the water will overflow but to his surprise, red

ball started absorbing water which was in the bucket. He was confused but at the same time he wanted

to save his people from drought and famine.

The Same night Ah Bao had a dream. In his dream, he saw a white dragon was dancing in midst of

clouds and showering water to his village. Ah Bao woke up and his instincts asked him to find this

white dragon, so he could bring water to the village and save his people from dying.

The next morning he packed some food and took the magical red ball and started his quest on finding

the White dragon.

On his way, Ah Bao saw a big long Python. Its tail was stuck in between the big rocks.   Ah Bao with

hesitation asked the snake “Do you know where to find the white dragon?”

Python said “Yes. But you should help me to release my tail which is stuck in between the rocks”.

Ah Bao broke a branch from the tree and moved the rocks. The Python’s tail was released. The snake

gave a piece of his skin to Ah Bao and said “Have this skin it will be very useful. You can find the white dragon at the far East and be careful you will meet a greedy red monster along the way”. Ah Bao

thanked the Python and continued his journey towards the east.

He came across a dry land where he saw a small pool of water. Koi Carp, an orange fish was swimming in it. Ah Bao asked the fish “Do you know where to find the white dragon?”

Koi Carp said “Yes, I do know, but first you must help move me to the well which is near the palm

tree.

Ah Bao carried Koi carp and dropped him into the well. The fish gave him his skin that was scaly. He

said “Ah Bao, this will be very useful to you and you have to walk towards the far east to find the

dragon. Be careful with a greedy red monster along the way”.

Ah Bao thanked the fish and continued walking towards east.

He went through a dense forest. There he saw a deer whose antlers were stuck in the thorny bushes.

Ah Bao asked the deer “Do you know where to find the white dragon?”

The deer said “Please release my antlers from the bushes then I will tell you where the white dragon is”.

Ah Bao took his axe from his bag and cut the antlers off from the deer’s head.

The deer gave the antlers to him and said “Thank you for releasing me. These antlers will be useful in

your journey. You have to go Far East to find the dragon. Please be careful with the greedy red monster you will meet on the way”

He safely packed the antlers with the other items which he got from the animals and set off once again.

Ah Bao met an eagle and its eaglet at the bottom of a high cliff. He asked the mother eagle ,“Do you

know where to find the white dragon?”

Mother eagle said “If you can take my baby to the nest which is on the top of the cliff then I will tell

you where to find the white dragon”.

Ah Bao without a second thought carried the eaglet climbed to the top. Mother eagle flew to the top of

the cliff and gave Ah Bao a pair of claws and said “Take these claws it will be useful in your journey.

You can find the white dragon at the far east. Ah Bao thanked eagle and continued his journey.

Ah Bao was face to face with the greedy red monster that every animal warned. Ah Bao asked the

monster “Do you know where to find the white dragon?”

The Greedy red monster asked Ah Boa to give the red shining magic ball or else he won’t help him to

find the dragon. Ah Bao started running away with his bag and the red magical ball. The Greedy red

monster chased him to edge of the mountain cliff. Ah Bao knew that he could not escape from the

monster, he swallowed the magical red ball and jumped down from the cliff into the deep pool of water.

Ah Bao swam back to the shore. Standing on the shore he felt extremely thirsty, he started drinking the pool of water but still his thirst was not quenched. He ran to China sea and drank all the sea water until his thirst was satisfied.

Suddenly, Ah Bao’s body was wrapped with snake’s skin. His body turned scaly from the fish’s skin.

The deer’s antlers got attached to his head. His hands and feet transformed into the claws from eagle.

His eyes turned into red shinny balls.

He flew into the clouds and showered water on the dried fields and villages.

Ah Bao is the White water dragon.

Moral: Life has many ways of testing a person’s will, either by having nothing happen at all or

by having everything happen all at once”.

I want you to forget all the old arguments and start to be nice from today or you will get bad luck, remember!” Mira wore a beautiful blue lehenga which had golden lotus and pink flowers embroidered on it.   She wore pink chanbali earrings and was all ready to meet her neighbors. Mira’s mom handed her a plate with 3 laddus, 3 murkkus, 3 vada and a small bowl of kheer. Mira walked carrying this plate to her neighbors’ home. She knocked at the door. No one answered. Goldy, a Friendly Fish

Nagapattnam, a place in Tamil Nadu is a coastal area. Most people do fishing for their survival. Early morning, fishermen get ready with their fishing rod, big wired nets, baskets, and other accessories which are needed for fishing. They also pack some food and drinking water as they don’t know when they will be back to home. In a small village in Nagapattam, there lived a fisherman named Mattu. Mattu was a tall, strong and dark man with short curly hair. He wears colorful dhoti and a white vest with a munda (a piece of cloth) tied as a turban to his head. By 3.00 am, he packed his things and left for fishing in deep sea. That day, the sea was very violent and stormy. Big waves raised up the yatch. His yatch was almost about to drown. He shouted for help, being in the middle of the sea. None could hear him in that strong wind. Mattu’s Yatch drowned. He held a piece of wood from the yatch and was floating. Back in the village, Liloo, Mattu’s daughter was worried that her father

Save every drop of water

It was a bright sunny morning. Golu woke up and stretched his hands with a slow “…yaaaahh….”. He got up from his bed and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Without turning off the water tap, he was brushing his teeth for a long time and emptied the whole water tank in his house. When he was about to wash his mouth and brush he found that no water came from the tap. He tapped the tap’s top and turned the value from left to right and right to left. He was confused “I saw the water  coming a minute back, now what happened??” he thought scratching his head. He called his Grandfather “Grandpa! Grandpa! Please come here!” Golu’s grandfather hurriedly came to Golu’s room. He thought Golu  is  in trouble. Golu: “Grandpa, I was brushing my teeth and there is no water coming out of this tap. Is there a mistake with the tap?? Please check Grandpa” Grandfather thoroughly inspected the tap. The tap was perfect. He checked the water line pipes for leakage. It was good and in working
